Art makes questions. Design makes solution. Technology makes possibility and Hackathon turns possibility to come in reality. The first edition of our innovation challange invites participants from across the nation to submit sustainable and scalable solutions to challenges from diverse domains.
The task is not so much to see what no one has yet seen, but to think what nobody has yet thought, about that which everybody sees!
Government College of Engineering Aurangabad (GECA) is one of the renowned engineering institutions in the country. Situated in Aurangabad city in Maharashtra state, GECA is home to some of the brightest young minds of the country engaged in a wide array of disciplines. With a vibrant and robust student body, GECA has been the launchpad for people with great ideas that have grown to be very successful ventures including CareNX, Jingletoons and others. This year, we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee and are hosting Marathwada's first-ever 'Hackathon' - a pioneer for finding technological solutions to citizens' challenges.
WINGS is the largest annual technical event in Marathwada region hosted by Government College of Engineering Aurangbad. It gathers crowds of over 2000 people every year with various technical events probing you to think out of box. The technical events include Hackathon, Robo Wars, Treasure Hunt and Nitro Racers and Epitome to name a few.
-> Smart Aurangabad Hackathon is a combination of offline and online event and as a participant you will need to be present at the Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad campus if you are shortlisted in the first round.
-> You can form teams of up to 4 people. Most teams aim to have a mix of people with both design and developer skills. One girl per team is mandatory. If any team is failing to fullfill this criterion please mail the organizers.
-> No. Registrations are completely free of cost.
-> Unfortunately, you won't be provided with a travel accommodation, but you will be provided with accommodation in the college campus itself.
-> Bring your student ID, laptop and chargers. A pillow and sleeping bag may be useful as well. Please leave anything illegal at home.
-> No. In the interest of fairness, students should not be working on their projects before the hackathon begins and we do not allow participants to work on pre-existing projects. However, you can familiarize yourself with all the tools and technologies you intend to use beforehand.
-> Aurangabad is well connected to all major cities of India by train and roads. The airport at Aurangabad has daily flights to Delhi/Hyderabad/Mumbai/Bangalore/Ahemdabad/Udaipur.
-> Students enrolled in any college in India can apply for the hackathon.
